Volunteer Private Investigators for Missing Children
|
Welcome to HomeFires, the first organization of its kind comprised of volunteer investigative professionals dedicated to assisting in the search for missing children. The HomeFires concept was born in July 1997, by RJ Bacon and Robert Morton. The idea that professional private investigators from around the country would band together via the Internet and aid parents, law enforcement, and missing children organizations toward the safe recovery of missing children evolved and the organization became known as HomeFires. A national, all volunteer investigative task force was carefully cultivated, and in 1998 HomeFires became the first missing children organization where volunteers are the owners of licensed, bonded, and insured private investigation agencies. Volunteers also include information and support professionals volunteering their skills and resources to help find missing children. With near instantaneous communication via the internet, solid leads can be rapidly investigated by calling upon the collective professional experience of HomeFires volunteers, who have developed an enhanced system of support and training. HomeFires volunteers recognize the delicate nature of the missing child situation, and strive to provide education to other members of the private investigation profession on how to conduct ethical, efficient, economical, and successful investigations. HomeFires is organized as a charitable and educational public benefit corporation under the U.S. Tax Code and is a qualified 501(c)(3) Tax Exempt Organization. Donations are gratefully appreciated and will be used to bring missing children home.
